Rungus beaded shoulder bands. The most distinctive accessory in the Rungus traditional attire which are two 6cm to 8cm wide bands of beads, the pinakol, worn crosswise over the chest and back. Both men and women wear them. Motif used for the part that is seen on the chest is geometric in form as well as a depiction of human, floral or animal form. It symbolizes bravery, a new beginning or sometimes tells a story.
